Los talleres educativos serán impartidos el día 30 en horas de la mañana, y por la noche se desarrollará el Jam en la Marina de Cap Cana; al día siguiente, a las 7:00 p.m., se realizará el concierto en Los Establos Cap Cana.
Bajo el lema “Tributo al jazz en América Latina” en esta edición de verano participarán en representación de los Estados Unidos el saxofonista y compositor Walter Smith III como invitado del Berklee Global Jazz Institute; el multipremiado con Grammy Awards y uno de los pianistas más importantes del jazz latino de todos los tiempos, el cubano Chucho Valdés y el también premiado con Grammy Latinos, el salsero dominicano José Alberto “El Canario”.

El evento musical, que se realiza de forma anual, es organizado por la Fundación Educativa Dominican Republic Jazz Festival, y cuenta con el apoyo del Ministerio de Turismo, Cap Cana, la Embajada de Estados Unidos y Karisma.
Marco Pignataro, asesor artístico del festival, y director ejecutivo del Berklee Global Jazz Institute, indicó que el Dominican Republic Jazz Festival 2019 rinde un tributo al jazz en América Latina.
