Del 22 al 26 de julio, el guitarrista y artesano de profesión nacido en Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), Francisco Javier Mejías Gómez, estará de visita en Caracas para impartir un Seminario de luthería a un grupo de luthiers ejecutantes procedentes de distintos estados del país y alumnos de la Escuela de Cuerdas Pulsadas del Programa Académico de Luthería del Sistema Nacional de Orquestas y Coros Juveniles e Infantiles de Venezuela ubicada en Caricuao.

Con esta segunda visita al país del maestro español, se espera actualizar, ampliar y consolidar los conocimientos adquiridos en julio de 2018 para la construcción, mantenimiento, reparación y restauración de los instrumentos musicales de cuerdas pulsadas (cuatro, guitarra, mandolina y arpa) y, con ello, atender las necesidades de las diferentes agrupaciones y músicos de Fundamusical.
A través de un abordaje teórico-práctico, los participantes podrán conocer y profundizar en el uso de materiales, herramientas y técnicas de encolado, encastre, refuerzo de piezas y afinado del varetaje armónico, entre otros aspectos, de la mano de Javier Mejías Gómez, quien se ha formado junto a grandes maestros como Rafael López Porras y José Ángel Chacón Tenllado.

El Seminario se desarrolla en el marco de ACERCA, Programa de Capacitación para el Desarrollo en el Sector Cultural de la Cooperación Española, creado en 2005 y dedicado a la formación de capital humano en el ámbito de la cultura. En Venezuela, ha realizado aportaciones en distintas áreas, tales como: gestión de bibliotecas y espacios alternativos, gerencia y gestión cultural, promoción de la lectura, etc
Con esta iniciativa, que es posible gracias al trabajo conjunto de ACERCA, el Sistema Nacional de Orquestas y la Oficina Cultural de la Embajada de España en Venezuela, no solo se contribuye al enriquecimiento del acervo musical del país y a salvaguardar el patrimonio de los instrumentos musicales con los que cuenta “El Sistema”, sino también a crear un espacio intercultural formativo que elevará los estándares de motivación y experiencias de los alumnos de la Escuela de Cuerdas Pulsadas en interacción con el instructor y con luthiers de alto nivel profesional.
