Calificado por la prensa estadounidense como un “operaholic” (adicto al trabajo en la ópera), Plácido Domingo tiene según su sitio web actuaciones previstas hasta noviembre de 2020.
Durante su carrera, también ha sido director musical y luego director general de la Ópera de Washington (1996-2011) y director general de la de Los Ángeles a partir de 2003.
Ha vendido más de 100 millones de álbumes y ganado 12 premios Grammy.
