Los intérpretes Ángel Miguel Hernández (Venezuela); Katherine Audas; Mingyao Zhao, John Henry Crawford y Edward Luengo son los finalistas de la novena edición del Concurso Internacional de Violonchelo Carlos Prieto, luego de la segunda fase eliminatoria celebrada en la Sala Niños Cantores del Conservatorio de las Rosas.

Es importante mencionar que esta tercera etapa los concursantes estarán acompañados por la Orquesta Sinfónica de Michoacán, institución musical con la que los ganadores ofrecerán un concierto este mismo viernes a partir de las 19:00 horas.
La semifinal refrendó el alto nivel de competencia de esta novena edición. La jornada inició a las 9:00 horas. Ángel Miguel Hernández Rivero, de Venezuela, Roni Gordillo Bolaños de México y Lizi Ramishvili de Georgia; interpretaron el primer movimiento (Allegro Selvaggio) de la Sonata de Manuel M. Ponce y los movimientos I y II de la Sonata en Re menor, Op. 40 para violonchelo de Dimitri Shostakóvich.
Este jueves se llevarán a cabo la clase de Asier Polo a las 15:00 horas en la misma sala. A las 13:00 horas en la Sala Niños Cantores Santiago Cañón Valencia se reunirá con músicos del Sistema Nacional de Fomento Musical.
Mientras que a las 19:00 se llevará a cabo el concierto de violonchelo y piano de Philippe Muller (Francia) y Alexander Pashkov (Rusia) en el Centro Cultural Clavijero.
