Actualmente Venezuela cuenta con flautistas que están haciendo historia en el mundo entero, una de ellas es Ruth Andreína Pereira Medina, la primera mujer en ganar el Primer Premio en la categoría superior del RC Colombia Festival y en el Concurso Internacional de flauta (en Sopó, Colombia) en el año 2017.

Ruth Andreína Pereira Medina es uno de los rostros musicales que representa a todo un país, a temprana edad es la primera latinoamericana en ganar el premio Joven Promesa en el V Concurso Internacional Andalucía Flauta en España, acompañada de la mano de los pedagogos Víctor Hugo Rojas, Manuel Rojas y Eduardo Gómez en Venezuela. Años más tarde le acompañan Shigeroni Kudo, Mario Caroli y Stéphane Réty en sus estudios superiores. Hoy día, Rozália Szabó y Dóra Varga-Andert son las mentoras de su carrera profesional.

Ganadora del 1º Premio de los concursos RC Colombia Festival y Concurso Internacional de flauta, International Flute Dutch Competition en Holanda, International Music Competition ‘Vienna Grand Prize Virtuoso’ en Austria y 3er Premio de música de cámara (Duo Piano – Flauta) en la ‘17th Chieri International Competition 2017’ en Italia; Ruth ha estrenado obras como solista en el festival de música contemporánea « MUSICA » en Francia y desarrolla hoy día una carrera de músico de orquesta en miras a seguir avanzando. Actualmente se desenvuelve como flautista auxiliar de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Dresden en Alemania.

Miembro de las Orquestas Nacional Juvenil de Venezuela, Regional de la Juventud Merideña y la Estudiantina de la Universidad de Los Andes. Inicia sus estudios de flauta transversa en el año 2011 con la Profesora María Laura Jiménez. En el 2012 ingresa al Nivel Medio de la Escuela de Música de la Universidad de Los Andes, donde recibe clases de piano con el Prof. Edzar Castro. Desde el año 2015 ingresa como flautista de la Estudiantina de la Universidad de Los Andes, bajo la dirección del Maestro Eleazar Longart.

En el año 2016, Mariana Díaz ganó el primer lugar del Concurso Infantil de Flauta de Venezuela “Pequeño Meserón”, de igual manera obtuvo el reconocimiento a la mejor interpretación de música venezolana, por la ejecución del “Sólo de Pajarillo” de Omar Acosta. Dos años después, ganó el segundo lugar en la primera edición del Concurso Opus y un año más tarde, el primer lugar en la categoría juvenil en el RC Colombia Festival y Concurso Internacional de flauta.
Daniel Efrain Barragán Hernández, joven monaguense, representante de la flauta venezolana, inicia sus estudios musicales a los 5 años de edad en la escuela de música “Jose Gabriel Nuñez Romberg” (Maturín). A los 8 años comenzó tomar clases de flauta transversa con su profesor y padre Efrain Barragán. Posteriormente continúa sus estudios en Barquisimeto con los maestros Rafael Hidalgo León y Manuel Rojas. Su formación prosigue en el Conservatorio de Música “Vicente Emilio Sojo” donde recibió clases de flauta con la Prof. Francisbeth Gonzales y luego en la Universidad Centroccidental “Lisandro Alvarado” donde cursa estudios de Licenciatura en Música mención Ejecución.
Ganador del concurso “Mozart” de la Fundación Opus en 2017, el primer concurso juvenil de flauta a nivel nacional “Joven Meseron” en 2017 y por último el “Concurso Opus” de la Fundación Opus. Actualmente, además cursa estudios de flauta transversa con el maestro Etni Molletones y trabaja en la Banda de Conciertos Maestro “Antonio Carrillo” perteneciente a la Gobernación del Edo. Lara.
