Los proyectos sinfónicos Stravinsky y Venezuela, Pasado y Presente, Música y Danzas Afro-Venezolanidad para la Juventud, además de otros en conjunto con la Compañía Nacional de Danza y co-producciones con el Teatro Teresa Carreño, encabezan las apuestas de la Orquesta Sinfónica Municipal de Caracas para este nuevo año.

A estos planes también se suma el rescate de la identidad de las tradiciones caraqueñas y afrovenezolanas no solo por parte de la Osmc, sino también por los grupos de la misma: el Ensamble de metales, el Quinteto de maderas, el Ensamble Ompaku, el Cuarteto Amindra y los nuevos proyectos Gentilicio y Canto Negro, además de la Estudiantina de la misma.
Durante 2017 la orquesta realizó 78 conciertos sinfónicos, 160 de cámara, 48 didácticos y 78 recitales comunitarios en diversas zonas capitalinas, dirigida por las batutas de Rodolfo Saglimbeni, Alfredo Rugeles, Luis Miguel González, Isabel Palacios, Sadao Muraki, Daniel Gil y Victoria Pérez, entre otros.
